Day 1, Thursday 8/2/01

I arrived in Liberty, NY at about noon. First stop: Post Hardware to pick up some miscellaneous supplies. Stopped at Rowleys building supplies to get 2x4’s for the batter-boards and shed. Not impressed with that place. They have foundation supplies but I think I’ll look at Liberty lumber. Guys at the counter were OK but I waited a long time to have someone get me the materials. The lot dude had a bad attitude. He couldn’t count and gave me 22 instead of the 20 I paid for. It almost makes up for the poor quality of the lumber.

It's hot today. No rain in sight. Hooked up an outlet on the pole and ran power to the camper and shed. Nice to have a fridge and lights.

Damaged the mig welder on the trip up. The top blew open and bent badly. Damaged item #1. Hope this is a short list. Used the machine to lift the welder and compressor out of the truck. Handy! I put up pegboard in the shed and organized all of my tools. It got dark around 8:30. I came in and showered and had dinner. I miss my Magee. Tomorrow I will go food shopping and dig the basement walkout some more. Hope the well guys come soon.
