Day 120 December 4, 2001
The well guy showed up at 9:30. He then couldn't get his rig started because he had left the key on and the battery was dead. A few aborted attempts to get it started and then he left to get a new battery. On the way back his truck broke down half way up the driveway. The incline caused the fuel pickup to suck air. That fixed, he installed the battery and commenced drilling. I thought the hole would need to be perfectly straight up and down for the rig to work, but I guess not. He threw some boards under the jacks and lifted up the drill. Then he used a 20 foot long pipe mounted bit to drill down 20 feet. He removed that bit, installed 20' of casing and changed over to a different bit for the remaining drilling. Its loud and messy.
I will not reveal the depth of the not yet finished well to anyone. I'm going to have a pool. Send me $1.00 and your guess on how many feet the well will be.
E-Mail me your name and guess in feet.
The winner will get all the money, but has to buy me dinner.
While the driller was drilling, I was building interior partition walls so I can better visualize the plumbing layout. I'm still waiting for my supplier to find the R-38 Cathedral ceiling insulation I need, so I hung out inside today.
