Day 139 January 25, 2002
I cut and fit all the tiles for the bathroom. Man, a diamond blade is the way to go. Cuts through tile like nothing. Tile is an
extremely hard material, and most tools won't cut it. The tiles are 12" square, and have a 1/4" space in between each tile for the
grout. The tiles are set in "thin set" which is a type of Portland cement mortar. I like to dry lay the whole room to make sure
the layout looks good before setting them permanently. You want the whole tiles in the most obvious places and the cut ones where
they aren't as noticeable. When I was happy with the layout, I mixed the mortar and set the tiles.
I met Laurie for dinner at the Diner, and we spent the rest of the evening relaxing by the fire.
12 hours.
