Day 267 October 1, 2002
I rented a pneumatic hardwood floor nailer at the rental place near home because I was worried
the nailers up here would be in poor condition and then I would be stuck. I picked a nice straight
piece of Oak, spaced it 3/8" from the wall and nailed it down with my finish nailer. The shape
of the flooring nailer won't allow you to get the first row near the wall. On the second row, I
started using the flooring nailer. It works well. It shoots a 2" galvanized staple at an angle
through the tongue of the board into the subfloor. The next row covers up the staple. Neat. I
continued all day, mixing up the different widths in each successive row. Looks nice, no?
10 hours, breezy and cool around 70.
