Day 73 Saturday October 13, 2001
Butchie was up and done eating donuts before I even woke
up. Ya gotta love the guy. We had a great day, got the 15 th
course grooved for loft flooring and put up. That's the last
course on the square part of the house! We built bucks for the
trapezoidal windows in the gable end (we measured and cut wrong
the first time, but Butchie caught the mistake before it went too
far). No harm, no foul. The weather has been superb, I'm scared
to say it because I don't want it to end.
Laurie and I put up scaffolding in the great room so I can put
up the trapezoidal window bucks and the last 17 courses of logs.
Its getting too tall. Now, people who know me know I'm not afraid
of very many things. I'm perfectly happy driving 160+ MPH. I love
to race motorcycles. I jumped out of a perfectly good airplane. I
raced cars on ice fer cryin out loud! But I don't like heights. I
hate them. I routinely have dreams where I am stuck somewhere
high and can't get down. Maybe I should have thought of this when
I specified a cathedral ceiling. D'oh!
I called a contractor to come and pour the basement floor,
he is supposed to come soon. He actually called me back, go
figure. He is no well guy.
My Dad is due tonight, I haven't seen him in ages. It
will be good to catch up.
10 hours, sunny and 74.
