Day 75 Monday October 15, 2001
We have a treat for you folks: all the way from San Francisco, my pop, is today's guest speaker.
One of the first things I learned about building a log cabin was that the logs are HEAVY. And numerous.
Billy shows off right from the get-go by getting up early. It seems he is on some kind of, um, schedule. I thought
being up in the woods, away from the rat race, he'd cool it and laugh at those of us having deadlines, commitments and
the like. Nope. "Gotta have the cabin enclosed in two weeks so the winter can do its thing n' I can work
inside."
Slavedriver.
I'm delighted to be up in the mountains and be able help and to be immersed in the beautiful fall colors. Fall is one
thing most X NJ ITE Californians miss.
By the end of the day there was only the last few logs to be laid to complete the log part of the log cabin.
We celebrated with pizza burgers for dinner.
10 hours, partly sunny and cool.
