Day 123 December 10, 2001
I finished the stairs to the basement. They came out great.
Then I headed home. I took the weekend off to rest a bit. I dragged Laurie to the Home Depot to pick out a toilet, bathroom vanity, sink and shower faucets. I got wire, a main breaker panel and some plumbing stuff. Spent the remainder of the budgeted money. When these parts are in, I'm out of money until I get a job. It went almost as far as I thought it would. I was due back to meet the insulation guy at 11 AM. He didn't show up. &*^^%%$##@! Looser. I called to remind him in the morning too! I called to find out where he was and he went home already. His boss said he will call first thing tomorrow.
I resumed drilling and installing the remaining collar tie bolts sent by the company. I got to 7.5 holes to go and the right angle drill attachment broke. That was the second one. Bummer.
The winner of the well depth pool is
Sharon K. with a guess of 567 feet. The actual depth was 605 feet (@ $8.00 per foot plus 20 feet of casing @$8.00 per foot). I had 16 different guesses ranging from 122 (my cousin the optimist) to 679
feet. Thanks to everyone who played along. Please send your dollars to: The JCC 1775 Oak Tree Road Edison, NJ 08820 ATTN: Well Pool.
The water pumping system is not included in the drilling process. The well guy will come back shortly to install that. I dug the trench from the well to the house already.
8 hours, sunny and cool around 33.
