Day 13 Tuesday, 8/14/01

Today is a big day on the hill. We have decided: damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead! Screw this waiting for some well guy to show up. We are going to dig now and worry about the well later. Using the transit level, 4 foot level, 100 foot tape, mason's line and 24 foot tape we set up all the remaining batterboards. We then ran the strings across them forming a perfect rectangle representing the top of the foundation suspended in mid air. The set up looks great, within 3/16's of an inch of perfect on a 41 foot 7 and 3/8's inch diagonal. That's beautiful! It takes us all day. We stop a few times, cover the transit and wait out rain showers. It was worth it.
