Day 147 February 6, 2002
I spent almost the whole day cutting and sanding treads and stringers The risers are 1x10 pine that go vertically between
the treads. I ran out of lumber because I ruined 2 risers. I guess I didn't get the router bit in tight enough and it gouged
right through. Twice. Then I figured it out. Live and learn. When I was done there was a pile of sawdust covering the whole
area about 2 inches deep.
As much as I hated to do it, I started the long ugly process of taping and mudding ("spackling" some people call it)
the drywall in the bathroom. I'm doing it now because it will be easier to get into the corners of the closet if I tape
them as I go instead of framing it all then taping it. I have done a fair amount of mudding in my day and it is not fun.
It's messy and dusty and boring to boot.
My court date with the non drilling well driller has been moved to March. I'm ready whenever he is. My kid brother
has been guiding me in my offense. Justice will prevail! And thanks Bro.
