Day 15 Thursday, August 16, 2001

I continued digging today and got excited because I was nearly done. Or so I thought. I suddenly realize while we were eating lunch that I had been measuring the depth of the hole from the string lines representing the top of the foundation. Wrong. I was supposed to be measuring from grade level, which is 20 inches lower. Shit! I have more digging than I thought left to do. As Laurie said, better to realize now and not when I'm wondering why the house sticks out of the ground. Back to digging.
