Day 173 April 5, 2002
We finished the tongue and groove in the loft.
We now have a ceiling in both bedrooms, the bathroom and the hallway. It looks awesome. By carefully
selecting each board, which are in random lengths, waste is kept to a minimum. I didn't have to waste more
than a foot on any board.
Right on time the delivery of plywood arrived. The driver helped me unload and stack them in the kitchen.
Next we started gluing and nailing the 3/4" plywood down on top of the T+G. This provides the strength
for the floor, the T+G is mostly just for show. Of 15 sheets of 4x8 plywood, only 3 don't need to be cut.
All the others need to be cut to length to allow them to be seamed on top of a joist. They need to end over
a joist so both edges can be nailed into one joist for strength. We got 2/3 done when we ran out of glue.
Tomorrow is another day.
8 hours, cold.
