Day 230 July 29, 2002
This day seemed the opposite of the last day I was here. Mostly smooth sailing. The lumber arrived at 7:10 AM,
but I was already awake anyway. The driver was young and happy. He helped me unload the 4200 pounds of pine. We
stacked a little more than half in the living room and the rest on 4 x 4's outside. The wood for inside needs to
acclimate to the surroundings awhile before it can be used.
The wood outside I stained. It will finish off the soffits. I stained outside in short bursts because it is
very hot and humid.
Inside it's cool and drier. I started trimming out the windows. I used my new table saw to build the stool
from the 1 3/4" x 3 1/2" pine. The stool is what most people (me too) call the "sill".
It goes under the window and that's where stuff always ends up. The plans call for it to be 3 1/2"
wide but that's too wide for my tastes, so I ripped them down to size. Tomorrow I plan to work on the soffits
until it gets hot, then I'll return to the window trim.
11 hours, hot and humid in the mid 90's.
