Day 232 July 31, 2002
I slept 'til 9 AM so I didn't get to work outside very long before it got hot. I stained some more
boards and came inside to work on the window trim. I finished all the small windows.
The big windows need special attention. They get interior trim stops, extension jambs, then 1" x 4"
trim. Since the log wall is 5 1/2" thick, not a standard wall width like if you used 2 x 4 or 2 x 6
studs and drywall, the extension jambs need to be ripped to width and cut at the correct angles on each end.
They get installed with 3" trim screws. Then the trim stops are nailed on. They are pre-cut by Anderson.
I only did the lower parts, I need to set up the scaffolding to do the rest. My plan is to finish the prow
first to free up the ladders.
12 hours, hot and not to humid around 93.
