Day 38, Saturday September 8, 2001
We have a guest speaker today! What a treat for you folks! Presenting Butchie
.
Hello all, I'm up here at Porcupine Hill against my will. I have been taken as a hostage and I'm
being forced to work for food and beer. Today we continued laying block, as Bill mentioned above. I like
to call us the Molasses Mason Company because we are slower then a moped on the autobahn. But once you get
the hang of it, the pace picks up. Today's lesson: the sun has a serious impact on the consistency of the
mortar, once the sun goes down, it's a lot easier to work with. We laid 86 blocks today, not bad for a bunch
of amateurs. Tomorrow the goal is 100 blocks.
Laurie is some type of mad women on the keyboard. She has been playing Blue Moon on the Casio for the last
few minutes. She's about as slow as we were laying block, but much like the block, with practice your back
will get sore. (I know it doesn't make sense but it just popped into my head.)
Now back to our host
.. Bill
.
Its not true about Butchie being held against his will until the foundation is done. There is no proof
of this outrageous claim.
8.5 hours, sunny and hot around 85.
