Day 65 Friday, October 5, 2001
We were up at a little past 7 and after a quick breakfast we resumed the log laying. We are up high enough that
we need a scaffold to climb on. Up, down, repeat. Progress. After we finished the 11th course we (Dave)
brought in all the logs for course 12 which is the header course. These logs need to be notched out where they go
over windows and doors. That would be easy if I had a 16 inch circular saw, but I only have a 7.25 inch saw. I'm
inadequate! I'll try and rent one tomorrow when Laurie's here. Dave, always thinking, suggested we put the logs up
on wood blocks and cover them as rain is forecast. Smart.
Look behind the cabin. The leaves are amazing this year.
