Day 84 October 24, 2001

A long and productive day. Rain held off until dark, thank you very much. Rained like heck last night, but it was warm all day. The poo crew finished the leach field and most of the pipes. They had a machine with a jackhammer on it and they struggled to break up the solid rock in front of the camper.

A few more feet should do it. They might finish tomorrow. I can't believe I will have a septic system and no water. Curse the well guy. A "pox" on him as Laurie would say. I climbed into the trench and laid the footing drain pipe, and the conduit for the communication and power cables. Legal? I'm not so sure. I thought that the power lines had to be separate from the sewer line, but the chief underground guy said it was OK.

I also cut the remaining rafters and put up 13 of them.

The concrete contractor didn't make it today but he called to tell me he would be here tomorrow. I want to get the slab poured ASAP because the weather is going below freezing in a few days. I want the slab to cure before then.

10 hours, warm and humid thankfully.
